Junior Section
The club has a dedicated team committed to encouraging boys and girls across all ages to enjoy cricket and fulfil their potential. We are firmly committed to ensuring that the club provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable experience for all. We are a diverse and inclusive club – new members are always welcome.
Our home ground Shurland Meadow provides young players the opportunity to develop by playing and practising on some of the best prepared pitches in the local area. Training facilities include a brand new astro wicket, roll-on nets and a junior bowling machine.
We currently operate in the Swale youth league with U16, U14 and U12 teams competing. The club also hosts an Under 10's and Kwik cricket festival and Under 8's Rapid Fire Cricket competition. Our vision is to see our young players’ progress through the age groups and integrate into the adult teams.
All our coaches hold up to date coaching credentials up to level 2 and are DBS checked, first aid trained and are members of the ECB coaches association.
Sheppey CC has a proud tradition of developing younger players into competent members of the adult’s team. We currently have many players in the first and second team under the age of 19 who have developed through the youth system. As well as this, three members of the team have recently undertaken training to become Allstar activators for the club.
